This Privacy Policy explains what information Ciencia Agora (cienciaagora.com, “the site”, “we”) handles when you visit, how it is used and the choices you have. The site is an educational website about paper crafts for adults. You can read every tutorial without creating an account or giving us any personal information.

Information you give us

Contact form. The only place where the site asks for personal information is the form on the Contact page. When you send it, we receive the name, email address, subject and message you enter. We use this information only to read and respond to your message. Please do not include sensitive personal information in the form.

Here is what happens to a message technically:

  • The message is sent by email to the site administrator’s mailbox. It is not saved as a record in the website’s database.
  • If the form reports a problem (for example, a missing field), the text you entered is held temporarily on the server, for up to ten minutes, so that the form can be shown again with your text still in it.
  • To limit automated abuse, the site keeps a counter of recently sent messages for up to one hour. The counter is linked to a scrambled (hashed) form of your IP address; the IP address itself is not stored by the form.
  • The form includes a hidden field and a timing check that help tell people from automated programs. These checks do not use cookies.

The site does not offer visitor accounts or a newsletter, and it does not sell products. Comments are closed, so no comment data is collected.

Information collected automatically

Server logs. Like most websites, the server that hosts the site may record technical information for each request, such as IP address, browser type, the page requested and the date and time. These logs are kept by the hosting provider and are used to keep the site secure and working and to diagnose technical problems.

Cookies. The site does not set cookies for ordinary visitors. WordPress login cookies are set only for site administrators when they sign in. Details are in our Cookie Policy.

What the site does not do

At the date of this policy, the site does not use analytics tools, does not show advertising, does not use tracking technologies and does not run a newsletter. If any of that changes, this policy and the Cookie Policy will be updated to describe the new service and the choices available to you.

How we use information

  • To reply to messages sent through the contact form.
  • To operate, protect and maintain the site.

We do not sell personal information, and we do not use it to make automated decisions about you.

Some pages link to external websites. Those sites have their own privacy policies, and we are not responsible for their content or practices.

How long information is kept

Messages sent through the contact form stay in the administrator’s mailbox for as long as needed to handle your request. You can ask for your message to be deleted at any time. Server logs are kept and removed according to the hosting provider’s retention settings.

Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask for access to the personal information held about you, to ask for it to be corrected or deleted, or to object to certain uses. To make a request, use the Contact page. We may need to confirm that the request comes from you before acting on it.

Children’s privacy

The site is written for adults and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has sent personal information through the contact form, please let us know and it will be deleted.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the site changes. The date at the top of the page shows when it was last revised.
